it's really easy to love people, simply get to know them. you don't have to be the same color or agree with all of their choices in order to respect them as a human being. go to the library today and check out a book about someone who seems different than you, it's a good start, and i bet you'll soon discover that you're not that different after all.

One of my favorite stories from my mother about the prejudice she experienced living in UT in the 80's is from church. She was a Sunday School teacher and many parents objected so much that they didn't allow their kids to attend her class. After the first year, one parent admitted to my mom that she was apprehensive at first, but every week her kid raved about "Sister Chen" and couldn't wait to go back next week. This parent told my mom that she apologized for being prejudiced and thanked my mom for being such a great teacher.
